Every now and then I come across an aspect of managing my Twitter account that seems difficult or even a bit frustrating. And each time I find that Twitter, or someone else, has already thought about it and produced a nifty application.
One Twitter tradition is Follow Friday, whereby on a Friday Tweeters suggest people their followers might like to follow, by tweeting their names, and using the hashtag #followfriday, or #ff for short.
But once you gain a fair number of followers, it becomes increasingly difficult to choose who you might recommend in your #ff tweets, and I stopped doing it, which is a shame, because I like the interactivity of #ff.
And then today I noticed a couple of #ff tweets included the phrase 'via the @ffhelper'.
FollowFridayHelper is a simple website which 'filters' your list of followers to show you those that you interact with (through retweets, mentions, favouriting or a combination). You simply choose which hashtag and which followers you want to include in your tweet.
The site also has a number of other tools you can use to manage who you follow or unfollow. For instance, it will unffollow any Twitter accounts which are not following you back.
